Bill
Coleman has a lifetime of experience in design and manufacturing
of original metal artwork. Coleman works in the fiery
world of iron, steel and aluminum, forging amazing metal
art for homes and offices.
Coleman
started his career in metalwork while attending high
school. Working in his father's metal shop as an apprentice
welder and fabricator. After school and throughout the
summer vacations, Bill learned his trade from the ground
up; mastering such skills as layout, design, engineering
and special finishes. Bill left "the business"
to attend and graduate from Florida State University.
Returning to his true love, design of architectural
metalwork. Bill moved to Clearwater, Florida in 1970
and started his own company. Among some of Bill's notable
clients is the government of Russia. Bill was honored
by CNN News to fabricate and present a bronze Russian
Orthodox Cross to President Gorbachov. Bill's company
fabricated bronze railing for the sales office of Trump
Towers in NYC, contracted jobs such as The Baltimore
Aquarium, Tampa International Airport, MGM Studios in
Orlando, Florida. They custom designed and fabricated
metal light fixtures for the historic Bellview Biltmore
Hotel. The list goes on and on.
But
most of Bill’s metal art is in the hands of discriminating
homeowners who have purchased his dining tables, coffee
tables, side tables, mirrors, wine racks, magazine stands
and other useful home art. Each piece is art, and at the
same time, a beautiful, practical accessory or piece of
furniture.
Custom
metal work involves designing and fabricating elaborate,
intricate metal railings, grills and other metal systems.
Architectural metal work is commonly used in offices,
condominiums, apartments, schools, malls and smaller jobs
for homes and churches.
Bill
Coleman continues to produce original metal art but his
functional art is being replicated in limited numbers
for professional decorators and discriminating retailers.
